Marcus LoVett Jr. of Burbank Providence is leaving the school.

His father, Marcus Sr., has a Twitter account, and a Tweet Thursday night says, ‘LoVett leaving Providence HS . . . to be continued.’

LoVett, a sophomore, was pulled from the team late in the season to focus on academics. He did not play in Providence’s opening-round playoff loss on Wednesday.

LoVett Jr. is going to be enrolling in Opportunties for Learning in Pasadena, an independent study public charter school, according to Joe Sciuto, Providence’s Head of School.

His father said no decision has been made where Marcus Jr. will play next season.

In an email, Sciuto wrote, ‘Marcus Jr. is one of the kindest and most respectful young men that I have encountered in my career, and his family is very supportive of our community and our school’s mission. It is refreshing to see a family and school community work so well together in the best interest of a young student.’
