Tuesday’s City Section Division I quarterfinal playoff game between Fairfax and host Palisades will be a challenge for the Lions.

Fairfax hasn’t beaten Palisades since the 2009-10 Western League season.

The Lions lost twice to Palisades in Western League play this season, 77-52, and 70-62. They’ve had matchup problems.

‘’We have to take care of the ball,’ Coach Harvey Kitani said.

It will be up to senior point guard Jonathan Brown to try to get the ball inside to Fairfax’s duo of Reggie Theus Jr. and Chaunce Hill.

Palisades has lots of shooters, led by Ammar Rehman.

It’s a big game because the winner will likely face Westchester in next Saturday’s semifinals at Cal State Dominguez Hills and the winner also gains an automatic berth to the state Division I playoffs.
