SEGERSTROM TO RECEIVE AWARD

The California Theatre Council will present an award Jan. 26 to developer Henry Segerstrom, a major Orange County-based arts patron, during the council’s eighth annual conference in Los Angeles.

Nancy Ebsen, council president and artistic director of the Newport Harbor Actors Theatre, said Segerstrom will be honored for his role in the construction and financing of the Orange County Performing Arts Center and other arts projects. The Segerstrom family firm has given $6 million to the center and donated the 5-acre site for the project in Costa Mesa.

Most events at the annual conference will be held at the Variety Arts Center in Los Angeles.
