Elderly Man Dies After Car Hits Him
An elderly Fullerton pedestrian was fatally injured Thursday evening when he was struck by a car as he tried to cross Bastanchury Road near State College Boulevard, Fullerton police reported.
The name of the victim was withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
Police Lt. Richard Kvancz said the man was walking to the north side of the street at 6:41 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle headed west on Bastanchury. “The scene was on the crest of the hill, about 100 feet west of State College,” said Kvancz.
Kvancz said the injured man was rushed to St. Jude Hospital where he died shortly afterward.
The car driver was identified as Glenn Hagemann, 37, of Rowland Heights. No citations were issued, Kvancz said.
