Is Atheism at Root of All Our Troubles?
As an atheist with a lifelong concern for human values, I have often felt myself in sympathy with many of the traditional religions that attempt to deal with the human condition.
In that spirit, I must assume that Pope John Paul’s suggestion that atheism has brought the world to its anguish must be due to an ignorance of political and religious separatism.
How sad that this good man, and one to whom millions look for spiritual guidance should become part of the problem as perpetuator.
