The Region : 4 Slain Near Santa Barbara
Four people were found shot to death in a ranch home in a rural, mountainous area in south Santa Barbara County and a man believed to be a relative of the victims was taken into custody at the scene. Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputy Don Glasgow said Barry McNamara was being questioned as a possible suspect in the killings at the McNamara Ranch, located on West Camino Cielo at the top of San Marcos Pass Road, 10 miles north of Santa Barbara. Glasgow said an acquaintance of one of the victims called the Sheriff’s Department after hearing screams and gunshots during a telephone conversation with one of the victims at 6:50 p.m.
