L. A. County Permits Fell in November

The Los Angeles County Engineer’s building and safety division issued 1,982 permits valued at $117,150,050 in November, down from the 2,203 permits valued at $133,217,640 in October, but still well above the 10-year November average valuation of $73,054,930.

Unincorporated county areas accounted for 1,223 permits (930 dwelling units) with a valuation of $77,214,000, according to County Engineer Stephen J. Koonce, while the 26 cities served by the building and safety division accounted for 759 permits (84 dwelling units) with a valuation of $39,936,050.

The largest of the 44 permits issued, which exceeded $500,000 in valuation, was for a warehouse in Azusa valued at $4.2 million, he said.

Newhall led the list of unincorporated areas with a November valuation of $41,663,820, followed by Lancaster, $7,063,630; La Puente, $5,723,500; San Dimas, $4,986,890 and Calabasas, $2,840,800. Santa Fe Springs, with valuation of $8,906,310, led the incorporated cities, followed by Azusa, $7,249,300; Agoura Hills, $4,836,230; Industry, $3,270,000 and Cerritos, $3,099,570.
