Residents Back Apartments: Two residents who live near a planned 30-unit apartment complex site are appealing a Planning Commission denial of a permit to build six two-story buildings in the project. James Stovall and William O’Connell said they favor the project because “the options available without the . . . permit are more detrimental” than those under the permit. If the appeal is successful, the six apartment buildings would be built on two acres on the north side of Fletcher Avenue and east of Batavia Street within 70 feet of single-family houses. The appeal will be heard by the City Council at its 7 p.m. meeting today.
