Assemblyman Pete Chacon (D-San Diego) is likely to leave public office at the end of this term, an aide to the lawmaker said Tuesday. Chacon, who was elected in November to his eighth Assembly term, reportedly wants to retire so he can spend more time with his wife. Chacon, 59, could not be reached for comment.
