Sweden Buys Minisubs

STOCKHOLM —
Sweden says it has bought two Yugoslav minisubmarines to tighten its defenses against violations of its waters by foreign submarines. Maj. Bert-Olov Lax, a defense staff spokesman, said late Tuesday that minisubs arrived in December at the Berga naval base outside Stockholm and will be used to train Swedish units to hunt for intruding submarines.
