Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Conrad L. Rushing issued a writ of attachment of $1.155 million against Warner’s Atari Games subsidiary, which effectively ties up that sum until a final judgment is handed down. Atari Games attorney Terrence McMahon said there is a “strong possibility that the ruling may be appealed.” In its lawsuit filed last October, Los Angeles-based MCA accused Warner of defaulting on obligations to pay for video-game and home-computer rights to two films and TV’s “The A-Team.” The judge has ordered the two firms to arbitrate their differences over a third movie, “E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial.”
