November resale activity registered lower levels than both the previous month and the year-ago level, the California Assn. of Realtors reported. After rebounding in October to a revised seasonally adjusted annual sales rate of 360,753 units, November existing single-family home sales recorded a rate of 348,325 units, a decline of 3.4% from October. Over the year-ago level of 358,359, resale activity was down 2.8%. The association cited the slowing in the general economy and cautious consumer attitudes as the reasons for the leveling off of sales activity.
