Angry at Police

Share

Recently, my car broke down immediately after I had picked up my sister from chemotherapy. It was a minor problem, and my car simply needed a “jump start.” I waved down a San Diego police officer who cruised by, and he told me that it was against their policy to give jumps.

I explained the situation, and he could plainly see my sister was in extreme discomfort (side effects of the therapy included heavy nausea). Incredibly, he told me that he would call a tow truck to give me a jump.

I was completely stunned that the Police Department cannot distinguish exceptional cases and was so inflexible. I again told him that my sister was in extreme discomfort and a truck would take at least an hour, while, if he gave me a jump, we would be out in two minutes. Yet, he refused and we ended up waiting for more than an hour.

It is truly astounding the degree of inflexibility and the absence of adaptability that our police officers have.
