A Jamul man involved in an assault on a racially mixed couple at the Dulzura Cafe was sentenced Thursday to the 96-day term he has already spent in jail. Billy Ray Jackson, 21, was placed on four years’ probation by San Diego Superior Court Judge G. Dennis Adams, who ordered him not to contact the victims, Jamul residents Luther and Rita Moore. Jackson and Ronald Olear, 28, also of Jamul, pleaded guilty in November to assault with a deadly weapon in the June 20 incident, in which racist taunts were hurled at Luther Moore, who is black, and his wife, who is white. The Moores were not injured, although Luther Moore said Olear tried to stab him and Jackson came at him with a bullwhip and a chain.
