Warren N. Lieberfarb has been promoted to president of Warner Bros. Inc.’s Home Video division.

For the past year he had been executive vice president and general manager of the unit. He will continue to be responsible for Warner Home Video’s international operations.

Lieberfarb had a previous stint at Warner as a vice president and executive assistant to then-chairman Ted Ashley. Later, he was vice president for international advertising and publicity. He is also a former senior vice president of Lorimar Productions.

American Savings & Loan Assn. said that Michael A. Durkin, Victor H. Indiek and Kenneth W. Krause have been appointed to the board of directors, while Frank E. Vaughan has resigned as general counsel and as a director. American S&L; is the principal subsidiary of Financial Corp. of America, based in Los Angeles.

James B. Skaggs, president of Hawthorne-based Amex Systems Inc., has additionally been named president of Bendix Aerospace’s Electronics Systems unit. Amex was recently acquired by Allied Corp., Bendix’s parent company.

As part of a realignment of senior executives, Philadelphia-based Cigna Corp. has named Hartel Z. Lebed president.

He succeeds Robert D. Kilpatrick, who remains chairman and chief executive.

G. Robert O’Brien was named executive vice president to oversee a new employee-benefit and health-care group.

Thomas H. Dooley was named executive vice president of a newly formed individual financial group.

Former Sen. Paul E. Tsongas (D-Mass.) has been elected a director of Lowell, Mass.-based Wang Corp.
