Two Norwalk brothers and their wives have been arrested and charged with 70 violations, following complaints about installation of faulty acoustical ceilings.

Arrested Friday were Anthony Armenta and his wife, Jamie, and Paul Armenta and his wife, Peggie. Charges against them included theft, contracting without a license, and misrepresentation, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Rod Leonard.

The two couples were booked in Downey Municipal Court and released during the weekend on $10,000 bail each. All four will be arraigned Feb. 15 in Downey Municipal Court, Leonard said.

The two couples operated businesses known as Anthony Acoustics, Anthony’s Acoustical Ceiling and P.R.A. Acoustical Ceilings, Leonard said. He added that the four are accused of doing “shoddy” work that, in some cases, fell down a few minutes after the workers left.

Complaints against the four have been made by 35 persons in Norwalk and Downey, Leonard said.
