Los Angeles police arrested a 23-year-old Arleta man in connection with the beating death of a Panorama City man whose body was found early Monday at Hansen Dam Park.

Police said James Dale Wilson, 30, an employee of Washington Inventory Services, apparently was slain in the company’s Van Nuys offices at 14420 Chase St. between 2 and 4 a.m. Monday. His body was then dumped at the park, where it was discovered by a passer-by several hours later, said Detective Mel Arnold.

Wilson died of blows to the head, Arnold said.

Police arrested Wilson’s co-worker, Darryl Perkins, Tuesday on suspicion of murder. Perkins was taken into custody without resistance as he was taking inventory at a Glendale business. He is being held in Van Nuys Jail, Arnold said.

Arnold would not disclose the evidence against Perkins and said police still are investigating the motive for the killing.
