Gas Company Occupies New Headquarters

The Southern California Gas Co. has occupied its new, $5-million, 38,000-square-foot Metropolitan Division headquarters building at 1600 Corporate Center Drive in the Los Angeles Corporate Center adjacent to the Long Beach Freeway in Monterey Park.
The L-shaped, one-story, wood-frame building on 5.3 acres was designed by Hill-Pinckert Associates of Irvine with a glass and dark-brown mini-brick exterior accented by blue sun screens. It was completed ahead of schedule by the general contractor, Oltmans Construction Co. of Monterey Park. About 190 will be employed there.
