Construction Collection to Be Dedicated
Dedication of the “Contract Documents and Materials of Construction Collection” at Cal Poly Pomona is scheduled Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the School of Environmental Design, 3801 W. Temple Ave., Pomona.
The dedication, which is by invitation, will mark establishment of the collection, initiated by a request from architect Marvin J. Malecha, dean of the School of Environmental Design.
Several months ago, the Los Angeles chapter, Construction Specifications Institute, contributed the first $1,000 to start the collection. Since then, contributions from various sources have reached $20,000.
In addition, construction materials and contract documents, along with educational information on the use of materials and methods for construction, have been amassed. The new collection will be housed in about 600 square feet of the school resource center.
