A contract for a $6-million classroom building at San Diego State University has been awarded to the Hope Consulting Group by the university’s board of trustees.

The new multistory facility will house classrooms, faculty offices and student services on the site of the old campus laboratory school.

First phase of the two-phase project is a 60,000-square-foot structure; another 60,000-square-foot building is planned for the future. The design will attempt to capture the spirit of early California.
