NFL Season Ends With Pro Bowl Today
The National Football League concludes its six-month season today when the National Football Conference and American Football Conference squads meet in the Pro Bowl.
The annual all-star game (Channel 7, 1 p.m. PST), which includes 10 players from the Super Bowl champion San Francisco 49ers and seven from the losing Miami Dolphins, has a new wrinkle this year. The defenses will switch from a 4-3 to the 3-4 that most NFL teams now use.
The rules also require that an outside linebacker must blitz on each play, taking aim at the NFC’s Joe Montana and the AFC’s Dan Marino.
