Swedish Consumer Prices Rise 1.6%

STOCKHOLM, Sweden —
Consumer prices in Sweden rose 1.6% in December from a month earlier, bringing the final 1984 inflation rate to 8.2%, Statistics Sweden reported.
The government agency said the yearly inflation rate was down from inflation of 9.3% in 1983, largely because indirect taxes rose only 10% in 1984, compared with 25% in 1983.
But it said Sweden’s inflation is still the highest among Sweden’s closest trading partners.
