Shot From Passing Car Wounds Man
A 23-year-old man was hit by a bullet from a passing car Saturday as he walked along a Santa Ana street.
Police said the victim, Amacleto Vasquez of Santa Ana, was being treated for a single gunshot wound in the abdomen at the UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Santa Ana Police Lt. Bob Jordan said Vasquez was walking in the 1000 block of West Pine Street about 3:15 p.m. when someone fired three shots at him from a passing car. Jordan said Vasquez stumbled to the front porch of a nearby home, where a resident offered first aid and called paramedics.
No description was available of either the car or its passengers, Jordan said.
