Loose Change Closes Bridge for 6 Hours
Associated Press
CHESTER, Pa. —
A tractor-trailer loaded with $800,000 in quarters bound for a Federal Reserve bank in Boston tipped over on a bridge ramp today, spilling coins and blocking the ramp for six hours, police said.
They said the truck’s load of 3.2 million quarters apparently shifted, causing it to tip over onto a median barrier and split open. Workmen using shovels and a forklift transferred loose change and bags of coins onto two armored trucks.
