TURIN, Italy —
The 80-member City Council of Turin, Italy’s automobile capital, has elected the city’s first non-Communist mayor in 10 years, choosing Socialist Giorgio Cardetti.
Turin, in northwestern Italy near the French and Swiss borders, is the headquarters for the Fiat auto company.
