California has received near normal rain and snow since Oct. 1, and water levels are slightly higher than normal in most reservoirs, the state Department of Water Resources reported. Cumulative measurements taken up to mid-January showed Eureka with 111% of normal rainfall; Sacramento 114%; San Francisco 101%; Fresno 101%; Los Angeles 97% and San Diego 154%. The snow level at Donner Summit in the Sierra Nevada west of Lake Tahoe in mid-January was several inches below the 10-year average of 5 feet, the department said.
