Proposed Valley Cutbacks

The RTD staff is proposing that service be modified on all or some of these bus lines after July 1:

Line 166, which runs from Nordhoff Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Chatsworth to Terra Bella Street and Eldridge Avenue in Lake View Terrace. Sunday service canceled.

Line 168, which runs from Nordhoff and Topanga Canyon Boulevard to Glenoaks and Van Nuys boulevards in Pacoima. Sunday service canceled.

Line 183, which runs from Laurel Canyon and Magnolia boulevards in North Hollywood through Burbank to Kenneth and Los Feliz roads in Glendale. Sunday service canceled.

Line 169, which runs from Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Saticoy Street in Canoga Park to Foothill and Sunland boulevards in Sunland. Rerouted to eliminate a loop around Burbank Airport via Vanowen Street and San Fernando Road.

Line 230, which operates from Ventura and Laurel Canyon boulevards in Studio City to Workman Street near San Fernando Road in San Fernando. Night service discontinued after 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Line 239, which operates from Ventura Boulevard and White Oak Avenue in Encino to Workman near San Fernando Road in San Fernando. Night service discontinued after 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Line 234, operating from Greenleaf Street and Sepulveda Boulevard in Sherman Oaks to Sayre Street and Simshaw Avenue in Sylmar. Service reduced on Sunday morning from every 40 minutes to every 60 minutes.

Line 236, operating from Balboa Boulevard and Midwood Drive in Granada Hills to Balboa and Ventura Boulevard, and from Ventura Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino to Woodley Avenue and Rinaldi Street in Mission Hills. Service trimmed from every 40 minutes to every 60 minutes between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Line 420, running from Corbin Avenue and Nordhoff Street in Northridge to Woodman Avenue and Van Nuys Boulevard in Panorama City, then southeast to North Hollywood and into downtown Los Angeles. Discontinued north and east of Van Nuys Boulevard and Roscoe Boulevard, with new Line 167 established to operate between Panorama City and West Valley. Change will mean a transfer in the Panorama City-Van Nuys area for riders traveling between the West Valley and North Hollywood or downtown.

Line 423, express service connecting Westlake Village and West Valley with downtown. Canceled.

Line 96, running from Sherman Way and Van Nuys Boulevard in Van Nuys to Burbank and downtown Los Angeles. Eliminated, with Lines 97, 152, 412, and 413 rerouted to replace it.
