Mobil Travel Guide Names 5-Star Winners

Five-star award winners for 1985 have been named by Mobil Travel Guide. They include 13 resorts, seven hotels, a motel and 11 restaurants.

New to the list of resorts is Marriott’s Rancho Las Palmas in Palm Springs.

The winning hotels are Carlyle Hotel, New York; The Fairmont, Dallas; Four Seasons Hotel and Stanford Court, San Francisco; L’Ermitage, Beverly Hills; Harrah’s, Stateline, Nev., and Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg, Va. The motel is the Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Ore., for its 18th year.

Other resorts on the list are Arizona Biltmore Resort (its 26th year) and The Pointe, Phoenix, Ariz.; Marriott’s Camelback Inn, Scottsdale, Ariz; The Wigwam, Litchfield Park, Ariz.; Boca Raton Hotel and Club, Boca Raton, Fla.; The Breakers, Palm Beach, Fla.; The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs, Colo. (its 25th year); C Lazy U Ranch, Granby, Colo.; Tall Timber, Durango, Colo.; The Cloister, Sea Island, Ga.; The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., and The Homestead, Hot Springs, Va. (its 24th year).
