Irate rock fans waiting in line for tickets to a concert by the heavy metal group “Iron Maiden” went on a rock- and bottle-throwing rampage, breaking seven plate-glass windows at the Long Beach Arena. Police said no one was injured or arrested. More than 20 police officers were called to disperse the crowd of more than 500, which had begun gathering at midnight for the box office’s 8 a.m. opening. The melee apparently erupted when some of those waiting panicked in the belief that there would not be enough tickets for everyone, police said.
