American Express said it is reviewing a cable deal.

The New York-based company is reconsidering its six-year investment in a cable-TV company jointly owned with Warner Communications, but no sale of its 50% stake in Warner Amex Cable Communications is imminent, according to American Express Vice President Walter Montgomery. "There is no imminent, pending deal. There's an ongoing process of review that is nothing new. Speculation to the contrary is off the mark," Montgomery said in response to a published report that American Express is preparing to end the partnership or dispose of its investment.
