UC Irvine Defeats San Jose in Men’s Tennis

UC Irvine defeated San Jose State, 9-0, in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. men’s tennis match at Irvine Wednesday.

UCI (2-0 in conference, 7-0 overall) travels to Tempe, Ariz., for a round-robin tournament against Arizona State, Illinois and Texas beginning Friday.

Irvine’s women’s team (6-2) defeated the University of San Diego, 8-1, in a nonconference match at Irvine. Laura Gonzales defeated Lola Trenwith, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, in No. 1 singles for the Toreros only win.
