Seal Beach Police Run Down, Arrest Holdup Suspect
A 26-year-old Long Beach man was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery at the Rossmoor Shopping Center in Seal Beach after he allegedly brandished a toy gun at a woman and her two children and ordered the mother to drive him to her bank, police said Saturday.
But the would-be robber apparently panicked and ran into the shopping center, pursued by two shoppers. Officers arriving at the scene chased the man into a restaurant and arrested him, Seal Beach Police Lt. David VanHolt said.
The woman, from Los Alamitos, and her children were not harmed.
Kenny L. Tucker was booked into Orange County Jail after the Friday afternoon holdup attempt.
