Naylor Enters U.S. Senate Race

Describing himself as part of “a new conservative generation,” former Assembly Republican leader Bob Naylor formally entered the race for the 1986 Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate today.

Naylor, a 41-year-old attorney who stepped down last October as minority floor leader of the Assembly, kicked off his campaign for Democrat Alan Cranston’s Senate seat with a series of news conferences scheduled today in San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, Los Angeles and San Diego.
