Sponsors of a mural that will depict the history of the Fairfax district and the Jewish community centered there are seeking high school students and senior citizens to help research, design and paint the outdoor artwork.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our young people to learn about Jewish history and culture as well as gain skills in artistic expression and learn how to relate to our senior population,” said Stephen Sass, a spokesman for the Youth Department of the Jewish Federation Council.

“Seniors will gain from their interaction with the young people and will feel more useful, less isolated, have the opportunity to share their own personal experiences and learn to express themselves through art,” he said.
