About 75 UCLA students marched on a Board of Regents meeting on the Westwood campus, unsuccessfully demanding an audience to protest alleged investment by the University of California system in South African companies. The students chanted, “UC regents, you can’t hide, you invest in genocide.” The regents were at lunch in the Morgan Intercollegiate Athletic Center. The students tried to get inside the dining area but were restrained. There were no arrests or injuries, campus officials said.
