Torrance

The City Council has approved a zone change that would allow Hughes Aircraft Co. to build a nearly 18,000-square-foot office building on a parcel adjacent to an existing Hughes facility on Skypark Drive near Madison Street.

The three-acre site has been used as a parking lot for four Hughes buildings used for manufacturing and offices of the Electron Dynamics Division. The proposed office building would be used for executive offices.

The building is expected to be completed by the end of 1985.
