The state Supreme Court approved repeal of the California State Bar’s widely disregarded 48-year-old ban on public legal advice by lawyers in newspapers, radio and television. Without dissent, the court approved a request made last June by the Bar’s board of governors to repeal the rule. Evidence that the rule has had little enforcement can be found in the recent proliferation of legal advice columns and talk shows.
