The State : Agency Shake-up Ordered

Share

San Francisco’s debt-ridden Housing Authority suffered another blow when Mayor Dianne Feinstein ordered a major shake-up of the agency and called for the firing of its executive director. “It has become apparent that the best interests of the Housing Authority and the people it serves would be met by a change in management of the authority,” Feinstein said in a letter to Housing Authority commissioners. She also told the commissioners that if they do not meet her demands, she will seek the “termination” of Carl Williams, who has headed the agency since 1978.
