A Colorado man arrested for taking an unauthorized stroll through the White House during the inauguration festivities was ordered to undergo psychiatric testing, court officials said today.

The tests were ordered by Superior Court Judge Paul McCardle to determine if Robert Latta, 45, of Denver, is competent to stand trial on misdemeanor trespassing charges. Latta, who drove 2,000 miles to the nation’s capital from Denver in a pickup truck to appear for the court hearing, was told to report to the Ugast Center, a municipal psychiatric facility.
