A Pico Boulevard market that represents itself as “strictly kosher” has been enjoined from purchasing or offering meats and poultry for sale as kosher, unless the products bear clear marks of identification as such. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John L. Cole also ordered G & L Kosher Meats to keep all records of such product purchases from suppliers for a period of one year and to keep records of non-kosher purchases physically separate from records of kosher products. In an action brought by the state attorney general’s office, the market was accused of advertising, selling and attempting to sell non-kosher but misbranded meats as kosher.
