Legitimate Business

Since your article, “Business Booms From Behind Bars,” (Dec. 10), hit the stands, the company “Bell House Movers Inc. and Bell House Sales Inc.” has received numerous calls from persons that we have known and/or worked for in the past and from potential new customers. The most common questions asked are: Are we or were we a part of Willian Eli Bell’s house moving business? Is Mr. Bell with us again, or still in jail? Do we have any more buildings in San Diego for sale? Etc.

Mr. Bell is unknown to me, has never owned, nor been employed by nor had any connection whatsoever with Bell House Movers Inc.

If Mr. Bell has at any time used this company’s name in relationship with his business it was fraudulently done.

I have been in the business since 1947 and have always strived to run it in a clean manner. I believe that we have one of the best reputations in this field. We count on this reputation.

We will answer any questions at any time to protect that reputation that we have built in the past 80 years of business.
