Australian Aide Arrives in Malaysia for Talks
The issues of Cambodia, education, defense and trade will appear on the agenda when Australian Foreign Minister Bill Hayden arrives for talks with Malaysian leaders, officials said Friday.
During his three-day visit, Hayden will meet Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Foreign Minister Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen and other key Cabinet members. He will brief them on the visit to Canberra this week of Cambodian coalition leader Prince Norodom Sihanouk.
Sihanouk suggested that Australia host a peace conference to be attended by all factions involved in the crisis in Cambodia, which has been occupied by Vietnamese forces since 1978.
