Secondary Mortgages to Be Conference Subject
- Share via
The growing preeminence of the secondary mortgage market in providing housing credit for the nation’s home buyers will be discussed Wednesday through Friday at the Century Plaza Hotel during the Secondary Market Conference of the Mortgage Bankers Assn.
Conference speakers will include Robert Spiller, association president and chairman of the Boston Five Cents Savings Bank; Mark Riedy, president of the Federal National Mortgage Assn.; Kenneth Thygerson, president of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., and Felix Beck, association past president and chairman of Margaretten & Co. Inc.
Workshop sessions will provide insight into four crucial areas of mortgage finance: the secondary market as a whole, hedging and interest-rate risk strategies, mortgage-backed security products and managing inventories of mortgages.
Round-table “information exchanges” at the end of each day will allow informal flows of ideas between speakers and attendees, and the conference will combine an educational seminar with an actual trading floor where buyers and sellers of mortgage securities can meet and arrange deals.
