A man, his wife and their 8-year-old son were found shot to death and a 3-year-old son was wounded in an apparent murder-suicide attack in the family’s apartment, police said today.

The 3-year-old had put an adhesive bandage over a wound in his chest and was found watching television in his bedroom, police said. He was taken to a Yonkers hospital and listed in serious condition.

The bodies were found in the family’s home Monday night by a neighbor who became concerned because the older boy failed to show up for school and there was no activity in the house, police said.

Police Capt. Owen McClain said the deaths were an apparent murder-suicide but would not say which member of the family might have done the shooting. He said autopsy reports would determine what happened.

McClain said a small-caliber handgun was found in the house.

He identified the dead as Jack Orgen, 33; his wife, Darling, 30, and their son Jack Jr., 8.
