Fluor Corp. announced Wednesday that its Daniel International subsidiary has been awarded a contract by General Motors Corp. to manage construction of an automobile painting facility adjacent to a GM assembly plant in Canada. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

The painting portion of the plant will employ robot technology and occupy about 500,000 square feet. The plant is scheduled for completion in late 1986.

Daniel International is a worldwide engineering, construction and maintenance subsidiary of Irvine-based Fluor.
