Culver City Mayor in Car Wreck
Culver City Mayor Paul Jacobs was hospitalized with minor cuts this morning after his car was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Jacobs, 43, will be hospitalized overnight for observation, a spokesman at Brotman Memorial Hospital said.
Witnesses said the other driver ran a red light and hit Jacobs at Arlington Avenue and Washington Boulevard at about 8:45 a.m., police reported. Before fleeing, the driver exited his car, walked over to Jacobs’ car and peered inside. No one got the license plate of the car, a late model Ford Granada, police said. Jacobs’ car also struck a second vehicle, whose driver reportedly suffered minor injuries.
