American Aid Workers Fired On in Ethiopia
Four American medical workers were among 30 people who came under rebel gunfire in northern Ethiopia, but no one was hurt, the California-based charity World Vision said Wednesday.
The four Americans--who were identified only as being from Oregon and Washington states--the Kenyan and 25 Ethiopian colleagues were trapped in their living quarters in the Wollo region all of Saturday night as bullets whistled overhead. World Vision said four of the five foreign aid workers traveled overland to Addis Ababa on Monday and two will now return to the United States.
