The state Department of Social Services says it erred in listing Diane S. Lane and R. Hubbard as current licensees for the Children's Path Schools in Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. The erroneous listings were reported in a story in Thursday's editions of The Times about the closing of the two schools amid allegations of child molestations by members of the staff and other adults. Lane and Hubbard both sold their interests in the schools--Hubbard in 1980 and Lane in 1981, according to Lane. "Our department failed to note that change," Jack Germain, a Social Services department spokesman, said.
