Express safety Troy West will be sidelined at least four weeks after a motorcycle accident Monday night in Los Angeles. West, in his second year out of USC, suffered a broken leg and several cuts in the crash.

West was traveling north on Charnock Road in the Mar Vista area when he collided with a car making a left turn, according to traffic officer Laurence Conzen said. West, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle. No one in the car was hurt, and neither West nor the driver of the car was cited in the accident, Conzen said.

The express also announced that offensive tackle Jeff Hart and guard Derek Kennard, both starters, underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier this week. Hart and Kennard were injured in Sunday’s 35-24 loss to New Jersey. It is not known how long they will be out.

Duane Gunn, the team’s leading receiver, had his arthroscopic knee surgery postponed after an examination revealed only slight damage.
