Orange County youngsters who would like to show off their talents this April in the Youth Expo ’85 may submit entry forms to the Youth Expo Office, at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, by Friday.

The two-day Expo, to be held on the fairgrounds April 20 and 21, offers youngsters from kindergarten through high school a chance to compete for prize money and other awards.

Elementary school pupils can enter contests in crafts, fine arts, story-telling, group projects and wall-panel displays. Junior high and high school students can test their creative skills in architectural and electronics drafting, graphic arts, industrial crafts, metal shop projects, woodworking, automotive skills, fine arts, creative writing and photography.

There will also be a Talent Search and a Pet Show. The talent show categories, open to only amateur entertainers, include instrumental, vocal, dance and skits. Winners from the talent competition advance to the finals held during the Orange County Fair in July. Pet show categories include a talent competition, animal-owner look-alike contest, dance contest, longest-ears judging, bark-a-thon and maze race.

Prospective contestants may receive information and applications by contacting the fairgrounds’ Youth Expo Office (751-3247) or the 4-H Office, 1000 S. Harbor Boulevard, in Anaheim.
